Our Story
At Breast Friend, we believe breast health deserves the same care and attention as the rest of your self-care routine. Yet, for many women, it can feel overwhelming or neglected—a gap we’re here to fill.
Founded with the mission to elevate breast health, we aim to normalise it and empower women to make it a priority with confidence. We are reimagining what breast care looks like, transforming it into a simple, approachable, and empowering habit for every woman.
Why We Started
Breast Friend began as Breast Friend Surgery & Wellness, a specialist medical clinic founded by breast surgeon Dr. Tan Yia Swam. Through her work, Dr Tan witnessed the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges women face regarding breast health. This motivated her to create a company that would address these critical aspects of women’s well-being. To bring her vision to life, she partnered with Ms. Leong Li Kar, a dedicated nurse with 15 years of experience.
In their work together, they observed that many women were hesitant to perform breast self-exams or seek medical advice due to fear, confusion, or a lack of guidance. Recognising the urgent need for a solution, they set out to create a platform that combines education, accessibility, and empowerment.
Breast Friend was born from this mission—to help women integrate breast care seamlessly into their overall wellness routine, making it as natural and empowering as any other aspect of self-care.
